Some days you just never know what you are going to run across~

Today we were trying to create a retro menu for a client and a certain salad was mentioned. “Sure but what is it??”

So we searched through the database and hit the internet and put our collective culinary heads together to create a formula but it still wasn’t exactly what we wanted.

That is when Mary B, our Fearless Leader walked in, “Just hang on”

Next thing we knew she emerged from the store room with an old file box full of her Mother’s AND Grandmother’s recipes (there are actually about a dozen of them!)

Of course this magical treasure trove held exactly what was needed but that isn’t the story.

This picture from The Tennessean is the story

Mary B started cooking and baking at an early age
In and among the treasures we found this gem in a page saved from the newspaper. Some people just fall into their career, some are seemingly born to it. Here is our boss, Mary Weary learning the fine art of cooking at the age of 3 from the very person that filled all those file boxes. Not only was she cooking at 3, but dang, she was getting PRESS! Now you just know I wasn’t going to pass that up!
There are two lesson to this story.
1) Not everything can be found on the internet. Sometimes you have to go to the source.
2) Some people were just born to do what they do. That may be why they are so good at it.
Then of course there is the “Awww, how cute”  factor.
Use every resource you have at your disposal; some times the answer was there all along.
