It’s not often that owner Mary Weary will share a family recipe, but here is an easy and tasty treat you can take to your holiday party! It was a recipe that has been passed down since the 1950’s!

Snappy Cheese Wafers

1 Stick of Butter
1 1/2 cups sifted flour
1/3 teaspoons red pepper
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 pound grated sharp cheese

Cream butter until light and add cheese,mix until well blended. Combine flour, salt and pepper and add to the butter mixture.
Make into 2 long rolls and wrap in waxed paper. Refrigerate until firm. Cut very thin slices. Bake10 min at 350 degrees.
Makes 100 small wafers
