Sous Chef
Summary
We’re looking to add a Sous Chef to our team! This position supports the Executive Chef in managing kitchen operations for Menu Maker Catering & Events. This is a full-time, salaried, exempt position. This role involves preparing high-quality dishes, supervising kitchen staff, and ensuring efficient and smooth kitchen operations. The ideal candidate has strong culinary skills, leadership abilities, and a passion for delivering exceptional catering experiences.
Responsibilities and Duties
• Assist in the preparation, cooking, and presentation of dishes according to company standards
• Collaborate with the Executive Chef to plan and execute catering menus for events
• Work to ensure on-time preparation and departure of food for events
• Oversee kitchen staff to ensure they follow recipes, portion controls, and presentation standards
• Maintain a clean and organized kitchen, adhering to health and safety regulations
• Keep track of inventory levels and assist in ordering ingredients and supplies
• Ensure proper storage and labeling of ingredients to maintain freshness and quality and compliance with food safety protocols
• Work to fill in the Executive Chef role during their absence
• Perform other related tasks as assigned by Executive Chef
Qualifications and Skills
• Passion for customer service and creating the ultimate event experience
• Extensive knowledge of commercial kitchen management and different cuisines
• Willing to work a flexible schedule including some weekends and early mornings
• Self-initiating and able to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks
• Professional demeanor and strong work ethic
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Hold a ServSafe® – Manager Certificate or be willing to get one
• Understands the ever-changing market and keeps up-to-date on catering trends
• Familiar with Total Party Planner or similar software, Windows-based computers, Microsoft Office and other industry standard software
• Proven experience as a Sous Chef or similar role in a catering or restaurant environment
• Understanding of health and food safety regulations and best practices
• Ability to stand for extended periods and able to lift and carry up to 35lbs.

Catering Events Coordinator
Summary
We’re looking to add a Catering Events Coordinator to our team! This is a full-time, salaried, exempt position. The ideal candidate loves food and working with people to plan events. They are organized and detail-oriented with exceptional communication skills. Regular hours are Monday – Friday, 9am – 4pm, with the possibility of some weekends, early mornings, and evenings.
Responsibilities and Duties
• Must be willing to work 9:00am – 4:00pm, Monday – Friday, and occasionally early mornings, weekends and evenings
• Prepares proposals and event worksheets
• Coordinates with clients and vendors via phone and email to answer inquiries, schedule events, and update event details
• Follows up with clients regarding payments and receipts
• Assists with preparing for events including making labels and signage, ordering event supplies, and packing
• Supports owner, helping to manage email and schedule
• Assists with marketing and social media posts
Qualifications and Skills
• Events and/or hospitality experience required
• Strong PC skills including Microsoft Word, Excel and willing to learn other computer software
• Excellent organizational skills with strong written and verbal skills, outstanding interpersonal skills
• Ability to be flexible with changing priorities
• Proficient with social media including Hootsuite, Facebook, Instagram
• Must have valid driver’s license and be able to lift 25lbs
