Who Needs Tinsel?
One of the hardest parts of planning the holiday party for your company or even your friends is deciding on the look. It is easy to do the same thing you did last year and the year before that but then you may just get the same results. One part of entertaining is understanding that in great measure, you set the tone for your event when you design the decor. The minute your guests enter the event space, they will read the visual cues that you put into place. Why not use those visual cues to make this year the one that finally shows the ROI you have only dreamed of in the past.
This year you can easily decorate outside the box.
Here are three different looks that are on trend for the holidays.
Woodland Rustic:
Think plaid fabrics and evergreen boughs. Add some touches of rich velvets that you could use to pull in your corporate colors. Set your centerpieces on slices of tree trunks and set it off with pine cones and hurricane lamps to give a soft glow. Maybe even throw in some antlers and a little moss covered in faux snow flakes. You have a warm, comforting atmosphere so everyone is relaxed and the the worries of the year just melt away.
Golden Elegance:
One of this years hottest trends, according to Vicki Sanders, Branching Out Event Florist, is gold. Designers are incorporating gold containers and linens with classic white flowers and a few winter greens mixed in. Include gold chargers and gold tone mercury glass candle holders and you have created an understated elegance out of a very simple color palette. Your guests will instantly get the message that they are special and that this event is intended to show them just that.
Frozen:
This is the look of a winter wonderland. Use winter greens flocked white, add some bare branches painted white and hit with just a touch of glitter in silver. Now set it all against a cool shimmery background by using linens with a shimmer, like crushed taffeta in either cornflower or ice blue. Use silver or pewter for all your containers and accents. The look is elegant, formal and very upscale. It will go a long way to make the point that your corporate branding is upscale and luxury.
